Edward C. Barron
August 27, 1961-July 4, 2021
Edward Charles “Ed” Barron, 59, of Monroe unexpectedly passed away on July 4, 2021.
Ed was born on August 27th, 1961 to Connie and William Barron, and was a lifelong resident of Monroe. He was a 1980 graduate of Monroe High School and attended Monroe Community College. Shortly after graduation he went to work for Amendt Milling, packaging birdseed, making cake mixes, and eventually supervising a small team.
In his younger years Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his Grandpa Millhouse. He was a huge sports fan and followed many college and professional teams. You could always find him sporting various team shirts or hats. Win or lose, he especially loved Michigan and Michigan State football and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ed loved animals, especially his childhood St Bernard, Tuffy, and never passed up a chance to visit with cousin Megan’s dog Grizzlie.
He had a great aptitude for names, places, and dates, and loved history – especially military history. He was a champion Trivial Pursuit player, and enjoyed watching Jeopardy. He loved his Grandma’s Italian cooking and she fondly called him Eddie Spaghetti – a name that continued to make him smile. He was a good natured guy with a big heart. Family meant a lot to him, and he will be greatly missed.
Ed is survived by his parents, Connie and William Barron of Monroe, his sister Kathie (David) Bunge, his Uncle Rod (Roxanne) Millhouse, Aunt Sharon (Chuck) Marlow, Uncle Allen (Bev) Barron, niece Melissa (Brandon) Barrett, nephew Philip Bunge, and several cousins, including Diana Barron who remembered Ed often with cards and visits.
Ed was predeceased by his grandparents, Albena and George Millhouse, Ruth Barron and George Barron, several aunts, uncles, and special cousin Molly Marlow.
The family would like to thank Friends Who Care, especially caregivers, Kathleen and Mike for their compassion, friendship and skilled assistance.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 2:00 until 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at Rupp Funeral Home on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 11 am. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Trust or Michigan Pheasants Forever.
