Edgar James Blumberg, age 58 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.

Born January 31, 1963 in Wyandotte. He was one of six children of the late James Blumberg and Cornelia (Laura) Abalos. Ed graduated from Jefferson High School in 1981.

After graduating, Ed proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 81' to 85'. He made Honors, completing the U.S. Naval Air Technical Training in their Aviation Machinist Course in 1981.  He enjoyed working on the engines and had also received many awards during his time in the Navy. One being, the Good Conduct Award. A certificate in recognition of faithful, zealous, and obedient naval service in 1985.

Ed made a living, working at Ford Motor Company. He worked as a lineman over at the Flat Rock Plant for 25 years before having to medically retire in 2007.

Ed married Darlene Jewell in 1982. Together they had a family of two children. Ed was also a member of the Monroe First Church of God, where he was baptized. In his free time, Ed loved working on airplane and car models. He always enjoyed watching aviation airshows as well. Ed was a history buff and was always full of knowledge.

Most importantly, he will be remembered as a loving father, generous grandfather, and animal lover. He enjoyed spending his quality time with family-especially his grand-kids. He will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
