Earl Stanifer
August 19, 1929 – February 13, 2025
Earl (Early Bird) Stanifer, age 95 of Monroe, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at home under hospice care.
Born August 19, 1929, in Harrogate, Tennessee. He was one of nine children of the late Curtis and Edna (Pendleton) Stanifer. After school, he met and married the love of his life: Helen Josephine Young on October 25, 1950 in Middlesboro, Kentucky. They raised a family of four children and spent over 74 wonderful years together.
Earl worked for Tecumseh Products Company as a Supervisor for 41 years before retiring in 1992. Earl was an amazing handy man and could fix or build just about anything. He was a Beekeeper on and off his whole life. Earl also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, and collecting clocks in his spare time. He was known for being the greatest storyteller of all time that the grandkids always loved. Earl will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
Beloved husband of Josephine Stanifer for 74 years. Loving father of Brenda (Ron) Montri, Rick (Pam) Stanifer, Homer (Trish) Stanifer, and Randy (Kathy) Stanifer. Dearest papaw of Chad (Christy), Michael (Ashley), Ryan (Stephanie), Jeremy, Josh, Curtis, and Krystle. Great papaw of Trevor, Mason, Drew, Mikayla, Isabelle, Samantha, Walter, Kaitlyn, Kerstin and Jeremia
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by brothers: Ralph, Robert, Jimmy, Buster, and Homer Stanifer; sisters: Sissy Cheek, Georgia Martin, and Charlotte Coward.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 12 noon to 4 pm. The funeral service will start at 4 pm. Private entombment will be Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
