Donna Jean Hensley, age 83, of Monroe, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, January 3, 2025.

Born on May 4,1941, in Monroe, Donna was the one of seven children born from the union of the late Roy and Carla (Estes) Whitaker. She attended and graduated from Monroe High School and went on to raise seven children.

Donna was a kindhearted and hard-working woman. She let those around her be who they were without judgement and was blessed with the gift of unconditional love. She took great pride in her entire family and being with them always brought a smile to her face.

Donna worked in retail at Hills and Walmart, but her greatest accomplishment by far was raising her children. In her spare time, she enjoyed jewelry making, arts and crafts, yard sales and bingo. She will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Loving mother of Misty (Dave) Baker, Carolyn Asum, Sherry (Buck) Fordney, Charles Hensley and Craig (Teena) Hensley. Grandmother of twenty-one, great grandmother of thirty and great-great grandmother of one. Donna also leaves two sisters, Pat Pendleton and Joyce Moyers.

She is preceded in death by two daughters: Brenda Dicarl and Connie Gillenkirk, a grandson, Jeremy Hensley, three brothers: Joe, Kyle and George Whitaker and a sister, Betty Burke.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 2 until 7 pm. at Rupp Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at Rupp on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 11 am with Rev. Larry Detruf officiating.
