Desanca Ghingilovich
March 9, 1945 – November 27, 2023
Desanca Ghingilovich, age 78, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023.
Born March 9, 1945 in Romania in the village of Gad, Desanca was the daughter of the late Milan and Piada Iasin. She received her High School education and went on to earn a professional Seamstress certificate in Romania. Desanca married Miosav Ghingilovich on November 28, 1965 and together they raised a daughter. They moved to the United States in 1981 and have since called Monroe home. She used her talent as a seamstress and opened her own business, Desa’s Alterations. She loved what she did and kept her business open for more than 25 years.
Desanca was not only a member of St. George’s Serbian Orthodox Church but was the wife of a Priest (Protinica)to, V. Rev. Miosav Ghingilovich. With that responsibility laid at her feet, she stayed very active in the church, and she did so willingly and with grace and compassion. Desanca was a very hard-working woman, but she always found it in her heart to be gracious and kind to others. Nothing brought her more joy, however, than spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons. She will be truly missed by all that knew her.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her loving husband V. Rev. Miosav, her daughter, Miriana (Stoyan) Popadich, two grandsons, Nikola and Alexander Popadich, two brothers, Jovan Iasin and Bora (Magdalena) Iasin and a sister, Angelina Obician. Her nieces Dragoslava (Cristofor)Vava, Jelica (Alexander) Stevanov, nephew Zoran(Diana)Iasin. Grand nieces, Cristina and Alexandra Vava, Milena, Marina and Milica Stevanov and grand nephews, Vladimir and Marco Iasin.
Friends and family may gather at Rupp Funeral Home on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 3 until 9 pm with a Vigil service beginning at 7 pm. She will Lie in state at St. George’s Serbian Orthodox Church on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11 am with a Funeral Service beginning at 12pm. Fr. Rada Obsenica will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.
