Delaine M. Marchese
April 5, 1945 – February 5, 2026
Delaine M. Marchese, aged 80, passed away on February 5, 2026, at Henry Ford Warren Hospital after a year of declining health. Born on April 5, 1945, in Monroe, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of the late Alton T. and Lucille C. (Vayer) Shippee.
Delaine graduated from St. Mary Academy and dedicated her working years to serving as a housekeeper for local hotels, where she brought warmth and care to those around her. Her vibrant personality left an indelible mark on everyone she met; she was known for her feisty, perky, sweet, and happy demeanor.
In her leisure time, Delaine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved watching "The Waltons" every morning with her black coffee in hand and never missed an episode of "Judge Judy" at 4 p.m. An avid birdwatcher, she delighted in feeding the birds and squirrels that visited her garden. Her green thumb was evident in her flourishing garden, a testament to her nurturing spirit. As a child, she enjoyed ice skating.
Delaine was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Tony Marchese; a son, Scott Smith; her parents; two beloved children, Wayne Osborne and Delaine Brown; and cherished sisters, Donna Roberts and Deanne Roberts.
She is survived by her children: Kimberly Reynolds of Florida, Denise Porter of Florida, and Heather (Tina Yokhanna) Marchese of Warren. Her sister, Darlene Wylie of Monroe, also survives her, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services are currently planned. Memorial contributions in Delaine's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Delaine will be remembered for the light she brought into the world, her loving heart, and the joy she spread to family and friends. May she rest in peace, eternally embraced by the love she shared with so many.
