Dean H. Babcock
September 2, 1947 – May 16, 2023
Dean Harvey Babcock, 75 of Monroe, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Dean was born in Monroe on September 2, 1947 to Arlene Babcock. He graduated from Monroe High School with the class of 1965. Shortly after graduation, Dean joined the United States Army. He served honorably during the Vietnam War and was a decorated solider. After his honorable discharge from the service, Dean went on a “blind date” which went on to be a marriage of 52 years to his loving wife, Nancy Lewis. They married on June 13, 1970.
He earned his living working as a Supervisor at the Chrysler Plant in Trenton for more than 30 years. In his spare time, Dean enjoyed wrenching on cars, he was a skilled mechanic. He also could be found out hunting and fishing. Dean was a simple and private man.
To cherish his memory, Dean leaves his wife, Nancy; three children, Brian Babcock, Deana (Brian) Post, and Michelle (Tim) Dvorak; four grandchildren, Carter and Colt Dvorak, and Nick and Haleigh Bradburn; and two great grandchildren, Tessa and Ryder.
Dean is preceded in death by his mother and two brothers, Duane and Dale Babcock.
Friends and family may visit on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 1pm to 7pm at Rupp Funeral Home. A celebration of Dean’s life will begin at 7pm with Rev. Larry Detruf officiating. Memorial contributions in Dean’s memory are suggested to VFW Post 1138 and Zion Lutheran Church.
