Curtis Haynes Obituary

Curtis C. Haynes

May 6, 1930 - November 30, 2024

Curtis C. Haynes, age 94, of Monroe, departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior on the evening of November 30, 2024.

Born on May 6, 1930, he was one of eight children born from the union of Joseph and Malissie (Garrett) Haynes. He was raised here in Monroe and graduated from Monroe High School.

Curtis met the love of his life, Marilyn A. Dingledine, and they married on April 14,1951. Shortly after they wed, Curtis was drafted and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Together they welcomed two children into this world and spent fifty-seven wonderful years together.

Curtis was a member of the VFW and a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a God-fearing and faithful man, dedicated to serving the Lord throughout his life.

During his working years, he found a career in Accounting and Purchasing at Ford Motor Company. Curtis worked there for 32 years before retiring. After retirement, Curtis enjoyed bingo, so much so, that he worked calling numbers for many years, and he loved to play poker. Being with his family meant the world to him. He cherished the times when they were all together, especially during the holidays

To cherish Curtis’s memory, he leaves behind a daughter, Lisa (James) Hovater, a son, Bradley (Kelly) Haynes, and a sister, Ruby Pope, and many treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren

In addition to his beloved wife, Marilyn, and his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 of his brothers and 2 of his sisters.
