Clayton Cadle Sr. Obituary

Clayton K. Cadle Sr.

August 20, 1946 – July 7, 2021

Clayton Keith Cadle Sr., age 74 of Carleton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at his home under hospice care.

Born August 20, 1946, in Springfield, Ohio. He was one of seven children of the late Joseph and Nancy (Harmon) Cadle. Clay graduated from Monroe High School in 1964. He then proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1967 to 1971. Clay made his living working at Ford Motor Company as a Machine Operator for many years before retiring.

Clay met the love of his life: Janet Berry. They got married on December 7, 1970, in Monroe. They raised a family of three children and spent over 51 wonderful years together. Together they enjoyed going camping with their trailer at the KOA campground in Ohio.

Clay was a former member of the Wheels of Time Car Club. He loved classic cars and even had a few himself back in the day. Clay liked to keep himself busy. He never met a stranger and was always liked by everyone he met. Most importantly, his family meant the world to him, especially his grandchildren. Clay will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.

Beloved husband of Janet Cadle. Loving father of Crystal (Jim) Shagena, Clayton Cadle Jr., and Tara Cadle. Dearest grandfather of Corey & Kayla Shagena, Clarence Wilson III, Stephanie Wilson, and Ciel Cadle. Dear brother of Patsy (Jim) Bryson and Sandra (Keith) Waldvogel.

In addition to his parents, Clay was preceded in death by brothers: Bill Cadle, Carson Cadle I, Kenneth Cadle, and Robert Cadle.

In lieu of flowers, in honor of Clay, memorial donations are suggested to the ProMedica Hospice of Monroe and the Alzheimer’s Association.

In accordance with Clayton’s wishes, no service will be held. He wanted to be remembered as full of life, not “lying in a box”. Final arrangements were entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery where an honor guard service will be held. Online condolences or words of comfort may be sent to www.ruppfuneralhomeinc.com
