Cindy Cox
July 3, 1968 – December 5, 2025
Cynthia “Cindy” Anna Cox, age 57 of Monroe, (formerly of Tennessee) passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
Born July 3, 1968 in Trenton. Cindy is the daughter of Rosann (Bastien) and the late Neil Runyon. Cindy attended Monroe High School.
In her younger years, Cindy used to ride her own motorcycle with Paul to Fireman's Lookout in Tennessee. They have been married for 38 years. Cindy used to work at a Wood Factory where they made cabinets, but she always wanted to be an Oceanographer- one who studies the ocean for her love of the water.
Cindy’s dream was to visit Salem, Massachusetts, especially during the spooky season. She loved music but her favorites were Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, and Bob Seger.
Cindy was known for her outspoken personality. She was told she was the “black sheep” but Cindy wasn’t afraid to tell it how it is and sometimes had to tell a few people off who deserved it as well.
Most importantly, Cindy had a big heart. She absolutely loved being a grandma to her two grandkids who were her “hell on wheels.” They were hers to spoil and cherish. Cindy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Beloved mother of Morgan (James) Jacobs. Loving grandmother of Sophia and Charles Runyon. Dearest daughter of Rosann Runyon. Dear sister of Ricky & Patrick Runyon, Christal Runyon, Louise Runyon, Ruby Spears, Catherine England, Joan O’Dell, Terrie Gee, and Peggy Runyon. Also survived by her buttercup and loving companion: Joseph Pridemore; many nieces & nephews; sisters-in-law: Angela Powlsion and JoAnn (John) Cox, brother-in-law: Sean (Christine) Cox; and spouse: Paul Cox.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father: Neil Runyon; brother: Alan Runyon; mother-in-law: Karen Cox; and father-in-law: Paul Cox Sr.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 2 pm until the time of service at 4 pm. Officiating is Fr. Kishore Babu Battu. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will conclude services.
