Coy Lanham
October 18, 1944 – February 14, 2026
Charles “Coy” Lanham, age 81 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Fountainview of Monroe Nursing Home.
Born October 18, 1944, in Harlan, Kentucky. Coy was one of nine children of the late William “Beauford” and Grace (Bray) Lanham.
Coy met and married the love of his life, Mary Lynn Imo on July 24, 1976, at the North Monroe Street Church of God Mountain Assembly of Monroe. In their free time, they enjoyed travelling. Whether by cruising or biking across country. Both were riders in the Gold Wing Road Riders Motorcycle Club for 20 years. They spent over 49 wonderful years together.
Coy was a rewinder operator at the Jefferson Smurfit Corporation for 31 years before retiring. He attended North Monroe Street Church of God Mountain Assembly. Coy was a motorcycle and muscle car enthusiast. He was very meticulous in that his vehicles were always waxed, polished, and shiny clean. Coy was also particular about keeping his yard in perfect condition, no matter what season. Coy will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
Beloved husband of Mary Lanham. Loving father of Lanna Jo (Drew) Powell of Pennsburg, PA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Coy was preceded in death by brothers; Finley, T.C., L.P., and Vince Lanham; and sisters: Pauline Philbeck, Christine Bentley, Betty Jo Bennett, and Aileen Woodard.
