Charles R. Hall

February 28, 1930 – December 2, 2020

 Charles R. Hall, age 90, of Monroe, MI., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Fountainview of Monroe.

 Born February 28, 1930, Charles was the son of Joseph and Irene (Willing) Hall. He attended and graduated from Monroe High School with the class of 1948. Charles married Barbara Fountain in 1951 and together they raised four children. Sadly, they all preceded him in death. He also Joined the United States Marine Corp. in 1951 and served his country honorable during the Korean War as a Sergeant. His specialty was working on planes until he was honorably discharged in 1952. Charles went on to marry Mary Kopski in 1961 and together they had two children.

 Charles made his living driving a truck for Ohio China Co. and Orther Bros. for many years. He was a pilot and owned his own plane and had a cabin that he loved in the Upper Peninsula, on Little Bay de Noc, for over 50 years. In his spare time, Charles loved to hunt and fish. He bragged about never missing an opening day of duck season for over 50 years. He was able to enjoy a long retirement and had many wonderful neighbors.

 To cherish his memory, Charles leaves two children: Joseph (Alicia) Hall and Sharon Sandifer, three grandchildren: Jon Hall, Amy Voyles and Kyla Sandifer and a great-grandson: Jace.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, and sisters, four children: Timothy, Richard, Christy and Michelle, and a granddaughter, Barbi.

 A graveside and honor guard service will take place on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.
