Catherine “Kitty” Nadeau
August 14, 1929 – November 23, 2024
Catherine “Kitty” Nadeau, 95, of Monroe, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on November 23, 2024.
Kitty was born on August 14, 1929 to Christ Basile and Florence (Tondola) Basile. She was born in Monroe and was one of 9 children.
During her working life, Kitty was a Nurse’s Aide, revealing her caring and kind nature for others. Her nursing career was something she was greatly proud of.
On February 27, 1954, Kitty married the love of her life - Martin J. Nadeau at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The couple enjoyed a wonderful 69 years together before his passing in 2023. She and Martin faithfully attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church where they shared their utmost love and adoration for the Lord.
Kitty will always be remembered for welcoming everyone into her home with love, hosting was one of her greatest passions. She was known for her Italian traditions, being the best cook, baker, and loved decorating for every season and holiday.
Kitty leaves behind her children, Martin (Leisa) Nadeau Jr, Kim (Tommy) Goins, and Michael Nadeau; Grandchildren, Jasmine (Vince) Sheffield, Frank (Gabby) Nadeau, James (Ryan) Bishop, Marleise (Parker) Gutschow, Stacey (Chip) Bishop, Jamie (Justin) McCrory; Great Grandchildren, Valor and Crew Bishop, Amiya and Kai Gutschow, and Charles (Cinco) Moran V.
She is preceded in death by her husband Martin J. Nadeau Sr., her siblings Ignatius Basile, James Basile, Patsy Basile, Christopher Basile, John Basile, Mary Rose Kelly, and Carmella Hesson and survived by William (Mary) Ziegler.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation and mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Monroe, Michigan. Visitation will begin at Rupp Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 2 to 8 pm, with a recitation of the rosary at 6 pm. A funeral Mass will be on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Kitty will lie instate at 9 am with Mass starting at 10 am. Officiating is Fr. David Burgard. Kitty will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe, MI.
