Carol Jane Ameye, age 76 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Born April 27,1949 in Monroe. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (LaPointe) Ziegler. Carol graduated from Monroe High School in 1968.

After school, Carol met and married the love of her life, Philip Ameye on August 10, 1968 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Monroe. They had two children and spent over 48 years together before he sadly passed away in 2016.

Carol first worked at the IHM (Motherhouse) in their kitchen. She then came to Food Town Market as a floral designer for 12 years. Lastly, Carol retired from Walmart in 2016 after 15 years of service.

Carol was a past member of the Monroe Moose Lodge 884. In her free time, she enjoyed casino trips and playing Bingo. Carol will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

Beloved mother of Jerry (Shauna) Ameye and Brenda (John) Griffiths. Loving grandmother of Erik (Margaret) Ameye, Jason Ameye, Kevin Ameye, Leigha Ameye, Alyssa Ameye, Kenny Sortor, Skylar Sortor, Jonathan Griffiths and Nick Griffiths. Great grandmother of Sutton and Kinsley Gee. Dear sister of Richard (Sharon) Ziegler.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband: Philip Ameye; and siblings: Theresa McMullen, Rosemary Jacobs, Ruth Anne Brown, Robert, Kenneth, and Austin Ziegler as well as an infant sister: Shirley Ziegler.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 12 noon. Burial will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park.
