Caleen Ann Martin, age 61 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 31, 2020 at home.

Born October 29, 1958 in Monroe, from the union of Leo and Bernice (Labide) Barron. She was the only girl, having three brothers growing up. Caleen graduated from Toledo Catholic Central High School with honors in 1976. She then started her career at the Social Security Administration here in Monroe as a Social Insurance Specialist for more then 30 years.

Caleen met the love of her life: Lawrence “Larry” Martin. They got married on May 24, 1980 in Walbridge, Ohio. They raised a family of two children and spent over 40 wonderful years together. Both Caleen and Larry enjoyed traveling to new places and going antiquing with one another.

In her free time, you could find Caleen outside tending her flower gardens. She also loved rooting on her favorite sports team, the Detroit Lions Football. Most importantly, Caleen loved spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. They were her world, to spoil and treasure. Caleen will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

Beloved wife of Larry Martin Sr. Loving step mother of Larry Martin Jr. and Christina Steinfurth. Dearest daughter of Leo and Bernice Barron. Dear grandmother of Marissa, Andi Lynn, Sydnee, Ariel, Alicia, Michael, McKayla, Jorden, and Hanna. Great-grandmother of Damian and Emma. Dear sister of Jeff (Sandy) Barron and Steve (Darlene) Barron. Also survived by a niece: Destiny (Ben) Hester.

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Rupp Funeral Home from 9:00-11:30 AM. There will be a funeral service on Saturday starting at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Officiating is Fr. Giancarlo Ghezzi. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo, Ohio.

Memorial donations in honor of Caleen have been suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Foundation.
