Brian “Cookie” Ochs, age 58 of Dundee, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2023 after a tragic accident.

Brian was born September 23, 1964 in Saline, MI to the late Ronald Ochs and Jean (Schultz) Wilaby. He attended Dundee High School, graduating in 1982. During school, Brian competed in swimming, softball, and was a coach’s assistant for the basketball team. He also continued to be a supporter of Dundee sports by running the clock and scoreboard for the wrestling team after graduating.   He then went on to trade school to work as a diesel mechanic in Lima, OH. Brian most recently worked for Marflo Lawn Service in Ida.

In his spare time, Brian enjoyed playing softball, bowling, golf, and corn hole. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cookie will forever be remembered as a loving, caring, and hard-working man. He would work after work and was never one to complain.

To cherish his memory, Brian leaves his loving mother, Jean Schultz; two sisters: Beth (Donald) Gill and Barbara (Jim) Welch; stepbrother: Rex (Patty) Schultz; god daughter/niece, Elisha Gill; nieces and nephews: Corey Hondzinski, Brittany (Joshua) Hicks, Amber Welch, Tony (Nicole) Schultz, Karrie (Lance) Luzinski, Jessica Schultz, and Tia (Chuck) Ruehs; and many great nieces and nephews.

Brian is preceded in death by his father, Ron Ochs; stepfather, Gayle Schultz; stepbrother: Larry Schultz and his grandparents.

Family and friends may gather from 10am-2pm on Sunday August 6, 2023 at Rupp Funeral Home, where a celebration of Brian’s life will be held at 2pm. Rev. Larry Detruf will officiate. In accordance with Brian’s wishes, cremation has occurred.
