Boyd Bruce Essary, age 79 of Monroe, passed away Wednesday September 28, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.

Boyd was born March 10, 1943 in Tazewell, TN to Oscar and Inez (Moore) Essary. After graduating high school, Boyd went on to work at the Ford Motor Company for many years before retiring.

Boyd was an avid fan of hot rods and classic cars and much of his spare time was spent being involved with them. He could also be found spending quality time with family and friends.

To cherish his memory, Boyd leaves his daughter, Steffanie Essary; his son, Scott Essary; two grandchildren: Ashleigh Riggs and Brittany Mis; three great grandchildren; and former wife, Joyce Essary.

Boyd is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Charles Edward Essary, Barbara Jo Keck, and Anna Lynn Essary.

In accordance with Boyd’s wishes, there will be a private burial at Roselawn Memorial Park and no services will be held.
