Blonnie "June" Weier
January 5, 1934 – December 17, 2024
Blonnie “June” Weier, age 90 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the Seacrest Nursing Home.
Born January 5, 1934 in Savanna, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Blonnie (Shuman) Bell. In high school, she enjoyed being a school reporter in their newspaper.
After high school, she married the love of her life: Raymond Weier on June 2, 1951, in Charleston, South Carolina on the Navy base. June was a loving homemaker to her husband and six children growing up. Although the family mainly lived in Michigan, they did live in Belfast Ireland for a couple years because of Ray’s job. Together they enjoyed going up to their cottage in Walopole Island on an Indian reserve in Canada. They also liked to go on cruises to travel. They’ve been on four ocean cruises to Ireland and one to Alaska. They spent over 58 wonderful years together before Raymond sadly passed away in 2009.
June was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She also volunteered for the funeral luncheons and would bake her homemade cakes for them. In her free time, she was an avid reader, liked to crochet and make Afghans and baby clothes for loved ones, crafting, and going shopping. June will be remembered for her sweet and kind personality. She will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.
Beloved mother of Michael Weier, Gary Weier, Daniel (Amy) Weier, Glenn (Suzanne) Weier, and Marsha (Michael) Banks. Loving grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by husband: Raymond Weier; son: Thomas Weier; brother: Thomas Bell; and daughter-in-law: Gloria Weier.
