Beulah Fay Jonson age 89 of Newport, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Promedica Hospital of Monroe.

Born November 26, 1935 in Payne Gap, Kentucky. Beulah was the daughter of the late Creed and Ada Johnson. Beulah came to Michigan in 1954 and married the love of her life:  Bellevy “Bo” Johnson in Ypsilanti, Michigan. They raised a family of five children and spent over 49 wonderful years together until his passing in 2002.

Beulah had many occupations throughout her life but was also a loving homemaker. She was a hard worker and took care of her family and siblings. In her free time, she loved to go to the casino to play slots with her sister-in-law Dorthula Johnson. She also liked going to estate sales, yard sales and collecting frog figurines.

Most importantly she was known as a strong hard worker, with a soft and kind heart. Beulah will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

Beloved mother of Buford Newbour, Patricia Johnson, Deb Jovanelly, Mike Johnson, James Johnson, and stepdaughter Carol Burchett. Loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Thomas (Rose) Johnson, and Judy Malone.

In addition to her parents, Beulah was preceded in death by husband Bellevy “Bo”; grandson: Matthew Jovanelly; siblings: Illine Blair; Wilma Chandler, Thurman Johnson, Robert Johnson, Jackie Sue Campbell; daughter-in-laws: Mary Newbour and Kella Johnson; son-in-law: Dale Johnson.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday January 2, 2025 at Rupp Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm. Officiating will be granddaughter: Heather Lynn Johnson. Burial will follow at Ridge Way Cemetery in Britton, Michigan.
