Betty Elaine Beste
April 22, 1942 - September 5, 2025
Betty Elaine Beste, a devoted wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, in Carleton, Michigan, at the age of 83. Born on April 22, 1942, in Berlin Township, Michigan, Betty was a cherished member of her community and a woman of deep faith and generosity.
Betty graduated from Airport High School with the class of 1960 and went on to receive a secretarial certificate from Cleary College. Her professional life was marked by dedication and excellence, serving as an Administrative Assistant at the History of Art Department at the University of Michigan and as an Executive Assistant at Sun Oil in Detroit, Michigan. She later became a homemaker and Family Farm administrator for Beste Farms, and then worked as a Sales Associate for Evan Picone and finally Mikasa, where she worked until retiring in 2010.
A devout Catholic, Betty was a member of Divine Grace Parish St. Patrick Catholic Church and held a special devotion to the rosary. Her faith was evident to all who knew her, as she often carried her rosary beads during her walks through the neighborhood.
Betty's talents extended into her kitchen, where she was renowned for her baking. Her cinnamon rolls, decorated sugar cookies, and pies were generously shared with neighbors and loved ones, particularly her beloved grandsons, Garrick and Graham Beste-Walz, who were the apples of her eye.
She cherished the time spent traveling with her husband, Dennis, and their daughters, exploring destinations such as Las Vegas, Tennessee, New Orleans, California, Minneapolis, Arizona, South Carolina, Georgia, and Quebec, where they made a pilgrimage to St. Anne de Beau Pré. Shopping excursions, especially to outlet malls, with her daughters created treasured memories.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Dennis Beste, whom she married on February 13, 1965, at St. Mary of the Annunciation in Rockwood, Michigan.
