Ashanti Marie Johnson, age 19, of Monroe, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, October 2, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born November 6, 2003, in Ann Arbor, MI, she was the daughter of Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lisha Allen. Ashanti attended the Monroe County Intermediate School District for fifteen years and made quite an impact on both the students as well as the faculty.

Ashanti enjoyed her time outdoors and loved to swing. She was a snap chat user and absolutely loved the filters that it offered. She sent them to her family and friends often.  She loved to sneak in a pinch or two on her family, just to get a reaction, and she loved her juice.

Ashanti was a beautiful soul who touched so many lives. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

To cherish her memory she leaves her parents, Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lisha Allen; five siblings, Calvin, Giovanni, Jayceon and Miley Johnson and Bailey Pollard; a grandfather, Charles “Lucky” Fairchild; four aunts, Jackie Allen (Maxiell Beard), Stacie (Joshua) Davis, Cherice Johnson and Keianna Bruce; and an uncle, Jacob (Jamie) Bruce.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Colleen Allen Fairchild, Jack Allen, Nina Bruce, and Calvin Johnson Sr.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:30 until 3:30 pm. A service in her honor will take place immediately following the visitation at 3:30 pm with Pastor Heather Boone officiating.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family.
