Anne Mary Ignagni, age 59 of Monroe, passed away suddenly in her home on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
Annie was born on March 31, 1966, in Monroe. She was the youngest daughter of Richard Duvall and Marian (Pavlovich) Duvall. Annie graduated from St. Mary Academy in 1984, where she was an accomplished student-athlete. She continued her education at Monroe County Community College and ultimately graduated from the University of Toledo with a bachelor's degree in education.
In her youth, Annie was an accomplished tennis player. Whether in serious competition at the annual City Tennis Tournament, where she won several championships, or battling it out with her sister Suzy at St. Mary’s Park, it was a sport she enjoyed throughout her life.
In addition to being a devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother, Annie was an amazing teacher, touching the lives of so many young people in such a positive way. She was also a skilled freelance artist with tremendous talent. The homes of her family and friends are adorned with her art, not to mention the scores of people who commissioned portraits of loved ones and murals that can be found all over Monroe and beyond. She also donated her time and artistic talents to her beloved St. Mary Catholic Central High School, where she taught art for over 20 years. Annie’s paintings were a much-anticipated feature of so many events, including the annual auction where the halls and gym were adorned with her work.
Annie was the youngest of 5 siblings, including Kathy (Rick) Kleinsmith, Laurie (Mike) Manners, and Suzy (Scott) Hoppert. She loved her family and cherished a lifetime of memories, including summer vacations in her beloved Leland. Annie was a steadfast friend with a strong and committed friend group who were there for her through thick and thin. Most importantly, Annie was devoted to her daughter Olivia (Gus) Flint, who meant everything to her and will serve as a living testament to her loving spirit.
In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Mark Duvall.
