Anna M. Boylan
April 23, 1928 – July 31, 2022
Anna Mae (West) Boylan, age 94 of Monroe, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at her home under hospice care.
Ann was born April 23, 1928, to North and Luella (Emmerson) West in Monroe, MI. On October 16, 1946, Ann married William (Bill) Boylan and together they had seven children: William, Daniel (Dee), Dennis (Sandy), Pam (Mark) Ferguson, Michael (Jeanine) Boylan, Lisa (Dan) Weipert, and Mark (Holly) Boylan.
Ann worked as a cook for Jefferson Schools for almost 40 years, retiring as the head cook from Sodt Elementary at the young age of 79. She was loved by her students and fellow staff and was known for never letting a child go hungry. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family, especially Sunday family gatherings. Her delicious chicken noodle soup and frosted brownies will be forever missed by her family.
Ann leaves behind 16 grandchildren: Amber Barnes, Nicole Mascarello, Tom Jenkins, Jon Ferguson, Kathryn Graunke, Daniel Boylan, Dennis Boylan, Joe Boylan, Melissa Urbanski, Patricia Boylan, Mike Boylan, Andrew Boylan, Zachary Wade, Kayley Heiserman, Brooke Boylan, and Alexa Boylan. Also surviving Ann are 31 great-granchildren (with more on the way) and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Bill, who passed away on February 22, 1985. She was also preceded in death by two of her children, Pam and Michael, along with her great-grandson, Travis Foland. Ann also outlived all her siblings: Helen Demay, Frank West, Junior West, John West, Jessie Maddox, and George West.
Ann was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. She leaves behind many treasured memories in the hearts of those who loved her. She enjoyed giving cards to people and her cards will be forever cherished by her loved ones.
Visitation will be at Rupp Funeral Home on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 1pm to 8pm. Everyone is invited to a celebration of life service being held at Stewart Road Church of God on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 11am, where Ann will lie in-state at 10am. Interment will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Flowers are welcome and memorial donations in honor of Ann may be made to Stewart Road Church of God.
