Alanah Grace Phillips, age 8 of Flat Rock, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 3:06 p.m.

Born March 29, 2016, in Trenton, Michigan, she is the daughter of Mariah Dodds and Brian Phillips. Alanah was in the second grade at Ethel Bobcean Elementary School. She loved school, which reflected in the exemplary grades she earned. She was artistic and from a very young age Alanah could draw an image without tracing. She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts, making three dimensional cards for many of her family members. Even though she was a tomboy at heart, Alanah often borrowed her mother’s clothes, makeup, and cosmetics so she could be just like mom. Alanah loved being a sister to her two brothers. Whether it be enjoying Takis; playing school, restaurant, or Roblox; or telling mom stories to get her brothers in trouble, Alanah and her brothers were inseparable. She cherished the many hours she spent hanging out with her cousin, Lily and looked forward to going to the beach, where she could be found playing in the sand and water.  Alanah was a compassionate little girl, who loved falling asleep talking to her dad and would pick flowers for her mom on her walks home from school. She will be forever remembered for her kind heart, sassy demeanor, and her beautiful ringlet curls.

Alanah will lie in state next to her beloved brother, Zayn, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Daily Church, 22333 King Road, Woodhaven, Michigan, 48183 where services celebrating their life will begin at 11 a.m. Rev. Matt Thisse, interim Pastor of the church will officiate. A private interment at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown Township, will follow.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her mother, Mariah Dodds; father, Brian Phillips; godmother, Kristen “Tweety” Sigler; one brother, Jayden Phillips; one godbrother, Stetson Moczydlowsky; maternal grandmother, Dolores Dodds; maternal grandfather, Roger (Emily Logan) Dodds; paternal grandmother, Kathleen Phillips; grandfather, Robert M. McClintock; eight aunts and uncles: Derek (Christian Dew) Dodds, Raquel (Lenny) Smouthers, Darian Dodds, Christopher Anderson, Nicholas Phillips, Ashley McClintock, Tony Schmelter, and Robert A. “Bubby” McClintock; and many cherished cousins.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her brother, Zayn; grandfather, Marty Phillips; aunt, Vanessa Painter; and one cousin, Isabella Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alanah’s memory are suggested to the family’s benefit account through Fifth Third Bank in the name of: Mariah Dodds and Children Benefit Account.
