Rita R. Ridner, age 87, of Monroe, passed away peacefully at Wellspring Lutheran Services on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at 10:51 a.m.


Friends and family may visit from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017, at Rupp Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. Rev. Harold Raines, Pastor of Monroe Full Gospel Church and Rev. Gary Pickrell will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.


Born September 2, 1930 in Lincoln Park, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Theresa (Shinski) Czarnik. Rita attended Monroe High School. She married Herbert Ridner on December 9, 1950 in Monroe. For 20 years she was employed by the Edgewood Christian Child Care Center as a day care worker. Rita cherished time spent with her grand children and family gatherings. Her entire life, Rita liked to walk, often walking many miles to and from work. She also loved to walk at the State Parks. In her spare time, she liked to shop and dine out.


To cherish her memory, she leaves three sons: Larry Ridner of Monroe, Alan (Shirley) Ridner of Monroe and Dwayne (Remonia) Ridner of St. Petersburg Florida; one daughter, Laurie (Don) Molinatto of Palmetto Florida; two brothers, Chester (Ann) Czarnik of Monroe and David (Ruth) Czarnik of Johannesburg Michigan; one sister, Rosemary (Richard) LaBeau of Monroe; tewnty grandchildren, fourty great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.


In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; one brother John Czarnik; a son, Randy Ridner and an infant daughter, Brenda.

    So sorry for your loss. I will always remember Rita being at Uncle Alan and Aunt Shirley’s house for the holidays in her vibrant red coat.

    I am Ken Ridner’s oldest daughter. Deepest Sympathy on your loss of Rita. My brother, James, 57, passed October 19, 2017 in Santa Cruz, California. Rita and James will be enjoying Merry Christmas from Heaven and are looking down upon us with all of other Passed Loved ones.

    Sorry for your lost. Mrs. Ridner was the best to work with at Edgewood. When I started, I was 19 years with no experience and she guided me through everything. Loved her laugh.
