CarterMarie-Paule Stella Carter, age 71 of Monroe, died January 4, 2018 at the IHM Senior Living Community.

Family and friends may visit from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, January 7 at Rupp Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 8, 11 a.m., followed by a private burial.

Born June 17, 1946 in Edmunston, New Brunswick, Canada, Marie-Paule was the daughter of the late Lucien and Leona Pelletier. She married Ron Carter on September 6, 1965 in Maine, and they have deeply loved one another the past 52 years.

Nothing mattered more to Marie in life than her family. She loved her husband, and adored her kids and grandkids. She also was an avid fisher, bowler, and loved trips to Red Lobster.

Marie is survived by her husband, Ron; one son: Dale John Carter; two daughters: Hollie (Jamey) Harmon and Stephanie (Paul) Marchese; one brother: Charlie Pelletier; two sisters: Joanne Harris and Anne-Marie Picard; nine grandchildren: Eric Carter, Brett Carter, Kyle Carter, Lainey Harmon, Cy Marchese, Katie Carter, Alec Marchese, Hayden Harmon, and Ellie Harmon; and two great-grandchildren expected to arrive in March and April.

In addition to her parents, Marie was also preceded in death by brother Guy Pelletier.

Memorials in Marie’s honor are suggested to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Humane Society of Monroe County.
