Jeffrey E. Kurzhals, age 52 of Newport, passed away at 6:20 a.m. Thursday in his home.Kurzhals


Family and friends may visit from 1 p.m. until services at 6 p.m. Sunday at Rupp Funeral Home. In accordance with Jeff’s wishes, cremation will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.


Born September 21,1964, in Trenton, Michigan, he was the son of Earl R. and Judy (Stafford) Kurzhals. Jeff attended Jefferson High School, graduating with the class of 1983. He married Kathy Creamer May 12, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jeff worked for Kenco Logistics as a Warehouse Associate for seven years. A life member of the National Rifle Association, he enjoyed shooting sports and hunting. He loved running his RC cars, rebuilding small engines, fixing things and building mini bikes. Jeff had a special relationship with all the neighbor kids and cared deeply for the time they spent playing video games.


To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife, Kathy Creamer-Kurzhals of Newport; four children: Heather (Keith) Deladurantaye of Ida, Amanda Badder of Detroit, Dustin Williams of Brownstown and Shawn Kurzhals of Newport; one sister, Joette (Roger) Lemoreaux of Grand Blanc, Michigan; and five grandchildren: Tearleanna and Chelsy Michaelis, Daniel Florance and Melody and Harmony Deladurantaye.


He was preceded in death by his father, Earl R. Kurzhals.


Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to assist with funeral expenses.

    You will be missed by all your friends you had in Monroe, I remember the first time I met you. You and Bob worked at the same place together Howard Turns. Prayers go out to your family. Have some fun with your father and anyone else that may be there with you. Till we meet again.

    Kathy, I’m not sure if you remember me. I met you and Jeff at MediLodge of Monroe when I was helping to care after Earl. I have never forgotten your family and I am truly sorry for your loss. I will continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
