James Earl Davis

July 4, 1951 – January 6, 2018

 

 davis James Earl Davis 66 of Monroe Michigan passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, January 6, 2018 after courageously fighting a battle with kidney disease. 

Jim was born in Toledo Ohio on July 4, 1951. He was the proud son of Pauline & Wilbur Davis of Toledo Ohio.  Jim was a graduate of Waite High School Toledo, a college graduate Sienna Heights in Adrian Michigan with a degree in Business Administration.  Jim served in the US Army from 1968 to 1971.   He was a retired employee of The Chrysler Corporation as well as Libby Owens Ford.  He had a career in Quality Control.  

In addition to his parents he is survived by his loving wife Deborah Dahl Davis of Monroe, sons Corey James Davis of St Petersburg Beach, FL, Bryan Lee Davis of Monroe.  He is also survived by his precious grandson Mitchell George Davis and his brother Brett Davis of Toledo Ohio

Jim is preceded in death by his sister Sherry Peters.

In addition to spending time with his family and his dog Timber Jim also enjoyed wood working, home improvement projects and vacations to any place warm.  Jim had an early career working in a ski shop.  Jim was a phenomenal skier both on slopes and in the water. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 5 pm until 7 pm. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 7pm at Rupp Funeral Home 2345 S. Custer Road Monroe, MI  48161.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made payable to the Salvation Army Emergency Shelter 815 E. First Street Monroe, MI 48161.

    My thoughts have been with all of you. This is a wonderful article on Jim. I didnt know many of the things he did. My prayers will continue for you all.

    Deborah,
    I was sorry to read of the passing of your husband Jim Davis. You will be in my thoughts and prayers for you and your family. I cherish the memories of growing up in South Monroe Townsite next to the Dahl family! Condolences from my 93 year old mother Jean and brother Greg as well.
