Erma B. Barry

August 3, 1931 – February 3, 2012

   Erma B. Barry, 80 of Monroe died at 3:15 p.m. Friday at Magnum Care of Monroe. She had been in poor health for three weeks.

   Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Von Loop will officiate and burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

   Born August 3, 1931 in Harrogate, Tennessee she was the daughter of Thurman and Oma (Williams) Gilbert. She married William Barry on November 15, 1985 in Monroe. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1988.

   Erma came to Monroe in 1950 and was employed by Seaway Foodtown in Monroe and LaBoe Reality retiring in 1996.

   Surviving are her children Jack (Debbie) Loveday of Glasgow, Kentucky, Jan (Larry) Kurtz and Jeanne Britten both of Monroe; sister Judy (Silas) Cheek of New Tazewell, Tennessee; grandchildren Michael (Sheri) Britten, Jackie (Jujuan) Mosby, Melinda Markgraff, Derek (Katie) Kurtz, Dustin (Ann) Loveday and Charles J. (Janice) Loveday III; and eighteen great grandchildren.

   Erma was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a granddaughter.

   Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
