Anthony J. “Tarzan” Salisbury

October 21, 1959 – February 2, 2012

Anthony J. “Tarzan” Salisbury, 52 of Monroe, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at Mercy Memorial Hospital.  He had been in poor health for 5 years.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at Rupp Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday.  Rev. Larry Detruf, pastor of First Church of God, will officiate.

Born October 21, 1959 in Trenton, he was the son of Anthony F. and Eleanor M. (Mayer) Salisbury.  He married Margaret Rimel March 21, 1994.

He was a self employed handyman and had worked for Quality Collision at one time.

He was a leader who liked to build things, always wanting to fix anything that he could. He enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles as a member of the Iron Coffins ICMC 13, lifting weights, and spending quality time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Salisbury of Monroe; his father, Anthony F. Salisbury of Monroe; four sons, Anthony James Salisbury II of Monroe, James Curtis Salisbury of Dundee, Ronald Lee Salisbury of Monroe, Michael John Coch of Monroe; four daughters, Carrie Boring of Monroe, Nicole Lynn Salisbury of Carleton, Tory Lynn Boudrie of Monroe, Elizabeth (Blake) Lambrix of Carleton; two brothers, Daniel F. (Junee) Salisbury of St. Cloud, Florida, Christopher  J. Salisbury of Monroe; three sisters, Theresa M. (Matthew) Thrift of Monroe, Tammy L. (David) VanDaele of Maybee, Michele L. (Richard) Carter of New Boston and ten grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Salisbury; a grandson, Anthony James Salisbury III; a brother Brian D. Salisbury and a nephew, Ryan Matthew Thrift.
