Nancy Anne Dahl

March 13, 1932 – January 16, 2012

   Nancy Anne Dahl, 79 of Monroe died at 7:55 p.m. Monday at Magnum Care of Monroe. She had been in poor health for seven years.

   Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. She will lie instate 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul United Methodist Church with funeral services at 11 a.m. Rev. Evans Bentley, pastor will officiate and burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

   Born March 13, 1932 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan she was the daughter of Hall and Ruby (Whitfield) Maupin. She married Duane Edward Dahl on November 4, 1950 at St. Paul United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2004.

   Nancy worked at the Monroe Woolen Mills, a family owned business, as a knitting instructor and was active with the Garden Club of Monroe. She volunteered for the Mercy Memorial Hospital Guild, knitting hats for newborn babies; she was also an avid baker and lover of crafts, and was famous for her pink cookies.

   Nancy graduated from Monroe High School, and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Monroe and Frenchtown Senior Citizens.

   Surviving are her children Deborah (Jim) Davis of Monroe, Dennis (Kathy) Dahl of Kalamazoo, Douglas (Ramona) Dahl of Allen Park and Diane (Dean) Baker of Mooresville, North Carolina; grandchildren Corey, Erin, Tom, Bryan, Bobby, Tyler and Kyle; great grandson Kevin.

   She was preceded in death by her husband and brother Theodore (Ted) Maupin.

   Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church.
