Mary R. Alexander

December 2, 1935 – June 29, 2011

   Mary R. Alexander, 75 of Monroe died at 12:00 a.m. Wednesday at Fountain View of Monroe. She had been in poor health for two weeks.

   Friends may call 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home where a Rosary Service will be held at 6 p.m. She will lie in state Friday 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m.  Rev. Robert Singelyn will officiate with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

   Born December 2, 1935 in Monroe she was the daughter of Walter William and Marguerite (Nadeau) Alexander.

   Mary was employed by Michigan Bell Telephone and Ameritech for forty-two years as an operator, retiring on September 1, 1994.

   She was a life member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she was baptized, confirmed and educated. She also attended St. Mary Academy.

   Surviving are her brother, James (Patricia) Alexander of Perrysburg; sisters, Kathleen Maloche of Monroe; Paula (Harold) Holton of Monroe; Suzanne Alexander of Monroe and Maureen (Steven) Smith of Warren, and her best friend Diane B. Hicks, as well as has many beloved nieces and nephews and their families.

   She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William E. Alexander.

   Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
