Ethel M. Lechy, 91 of Grosse Pointe Woods formerly of Monroe died at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday at Henry Ford Belmont Nursing Center, Harper Woods. She had been in poor health for ten years. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. service time on Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. Marc Gawronski pastor will officiate and burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe. Born September 26, 1919 in Monroe she was the daughter of Andrew and Anna Fountain. She married Robert M. Lechy on February 25, 1939 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Monroe. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2005. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at Mercy Hospital for five years and the Lutheran Home for fourteen years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a 1937 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy. Surviving is her son Robert M. (Kathleen) Lechy Jr. MD of Grosse Pointe Woods; Grandson Robert M. (Emily) Lechy III of Troy, Illinois; granddaughter Jennifer M. Lechy of Toronto and a great granddaughter Abigail N. Lechy. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Diane K.
