Theresa Marie Ann Kenyon, age 57, died unexpectedly of natural causes at her home in Monroe, Michigan on September 24, 2010. The daughter of Alice and Eugene Kenyon of Monroe, she was born on December 21, 1952. A lifelong member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Monroe, she completed her primary education at St. Anne’s Elementary School. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy (1971). She graduated from Wayne State University (1975) with a B.S. in Geology. She was due to complete her Master’s degree in Divinity at Sacred Heart Seminary in December 2010. Theresa held many positions throughout her long career. She was a substitute teacher for the county of Monroe, as well as a science instructor for elementary school students at several different facilities. She was a technical information specialist at the Defense Mapping Agency in Washington, DC tracking materials used by the U.S. Department of Defense. For the past 13 years she was employed by the Bartech Group as a business technician at the Enrico Fermi Nuclear Power Plant. Theresa was a member of MENSA, the Michigan Mineralogical Society, and a longtime member and supporter of The Nature Conservancy. She served as secretary for the Monroe Toastmasters Club. She also served as treasurer of the Friends of Ellis. She was involved in the Blues Festival, Writers on the River, and was an avid supporter of the library. She was active in St. Anne’s Catholic Parish, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Catechist, member of the choir, in addition to many other responsibilities. In addition to living her Catholic faith, her true passion was for genealogy. She worked extensively to compile genealogic histories for her own family as well as for several friends and clients. Theresa was one of six children and is survived by Roger and Judy Kenyon(Crossville, Tennessee), Patricia Kenyon-Kush and Donald Kush(Southgate, Michigan), Mary Kenyon Kehoe and Patrick Kehoe(Carleton, Michigan), Eugene Kenyon(Portland, Oregon), and Thomas and Terry Kenyon(Laurel, Maryland), and many nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 2420 North Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48162 on Thursday September 30, 2010 at 10:00 A.M.
