Julia Catherine Niswender

Jan. 25, 1989 – Dec. 11, 2012

December 11, 2012, Julia Catherine Niswender was called to become one of God’s angels.  Born January 25, 1989 in Monroe, Julia was a caring, compassionate, spirited, boisterous, fun-loving, spontaneous, outgoing, and opinionated person who made an impact on everyone she encountered.  Her smile brightened every face she saw and every room she entered.  As many people know, Julia was a twin.  Her sister and best friend, Jennifer, shared an extremely close and special bond.  They loved having one another to share experiences and stories with; they were inseparable.   Julia graduated from Monroe High School in 2008 and Monroe County Community College in 2011.  She was currently a Junior attending Eastern Michigan University double majoring in Communications and Electronic Media and Film.  She was an employee of Meijer in Monroe for 8 years, Electrik Beach for over a year, and Wal-Mart of Saline for 1 year.  This attests to her outstanding work ethic.  She was preceded in death by her beloved Uncle Jeff Niswender.  She is survived by her parents James and Kimberly Turnquist of Monroe; twin sister Jennifer Niswender; younger sister Madison Turnquist both of Monroe; Grandparents Rose Niswender of Monroe, and Jim and Linda Niswender of Dunedin, Florida; Aunt Carrie Niswender and Uncle Marcus Niswender of Monroe; also an innumerable amount of extended family and friends.  She had a way to make everyone around her feel special and appreciated.  She loved her family and friends and lived her entire life for them.  Her selfless nature was evident in her actions.  Julia always planned everything and was ready way before anyone else ever was.  Planning was her passion in her job and academics. There was no doubt she would have achieved her goals and aspirations in her career and life.  A memorial fund has been established through Monroe Bank and Trust to help the family in their time of need.  A Candlelight Vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Munson Park.  Visitation will be held at Rupp Funeral Home on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.   Julia will lie instate at 10 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Fellowship Church where services will be at 11 a.m.  The church pastor, Rev. John Piippo will officiate.  Burial will follow at Erie Union Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent through www.ruppfuneralhomeinc.com.

#23 Jessica Elton 2012-12-17 04:41 Julia was a student in my Intercultural Communication class last year. She was the type of student a professor doesn't forget (for all the right reasons). She was outgoing, energetic, bright, and eager—a true delight to have in the classroom and a young woman who was destined for wonderful and exciting things. This is such a tragic and sad loss. My condolences and thoughts to the family. I am so very sorry. Quote
