Madge L. Blevins

Madge L. Blevins, 82, of Monroe died at 9:57 p.m. Sunday at The Lutheran Home. She had been ill for two months.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Rupp Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Harold Raymond, pastor of Amazing Grace Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

Madge was born April 8, 1930 in Tazewell, Tennessee; she was the daughter of Sherman and Hattie (Treece) Cupp. She married Raymond E. Blevins November 7, 1949; he preceded her in death on May 5, 2005.

She was a member of Amazing Grace Missionary Baptist Church.

Madge is survived by three children, Jerry W. Blevins of Monroe, Linda S. Stuart of Monroe, Jimmie F. Blevins of Willis, Michigan; six sisters, Cladis Morse of Monroe, Ruth (Finley) Bunch of Monroe, Charlene (Von) Loop of Monroe, Lorene Dyer of Temperance, Jessie (Rick) DuBois of Tazewell, Tennessee and Betty (Craig) Alleman of Knoxville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Claude and a sister Virgie Hopson.
