Matthew Gerard Bondy

March 16, 1963 – July 3, 2012

   Matthew G. Bondy, 49 of Waterford formerly of Monroe and Sioux Fall, South Dakota died at 7:17 p.m. Tuesday at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. He had been in poor health for two years.

   Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home where a scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. He will lie instate 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church with the Mass of the resurrection at 11 a.m. Rev. James Smalarz, pastor will officiate with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

   Born March 16, 1963 in Monroe he was the son of Joseph Harvey and Joann Marie (Lerch) Bondy. He married Mary Jo Quistorff on July 6, 2001 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

   Matt was employed by Catco and Kenworth both in Sioux Falls. He was a 1981 graduate of Ida High School and a 1982 graduate of the Ohio Diesel Technical Institute.

   He was a member of St. Christina Catholic Church and a volunteer at First English Lutheran Church both in Lennox, South Dakota.

   Surviving are his wife Mary Jo, mother Joann M. Bondy of Waterford, step children Danielle J. (Michael) Mourer of Sioux Falls, Joshua J. Schmidt of Salem, Rachelle J. Schmidt of Vermillion and Davis J. Schmidt of Lennox; brother Mark J. (Kitty) Bondy of LaSalle; sisters; Lynne M. (Joe) Bauer of Dundee, Karin A. (Mike) Stewart of Monroe and Ruth A. (Joe) Dettloff of Waterford and several nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his father, nephews Joshua M. Bondy and Christopher M. Bondy and a niece Abby M. Bauer.

   Memorial may be made to St. John Catholic Church.
