Lawrence B. Kelly, Jr. 70, of Monroe died at 4:42 p.m. Tuesday at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Memorial services Monday 2:30 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. VFW Post 1138, Monroe officiating. Born December 17, 1938 in Tazewell, Tennessee he was the son of Lawrence B. and Nellie (Simmons) Kelly, Sr. He was employed as a truck driver for Ray’s Trucking, Monroe and also worked as an auto mechanic. He served in the US Army from June 23, 1962 to June 30, 1968. He is survived by his children Todd Kelly of Toledo; Sheila (Tim) Kelly-Cornell of Dundee and Marnel Kelly of Florida; brother Van Kelly of LaSalle and sister Layuna Morgan of Monroe; grandson Derek Cornell.
