Emil F. Kohlman, age 79 of Monroe, died at 9:50 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12th at home.

Born May 26th, 1938 in Oak Harbor, OH, Emil was the son of the late Henry and Eleanor (Sandrock) Kohlman. After graduating from Monroe High School, Emil proudly served in the US Army, being honorably discharged after his service. Emil worked at General Motors as a Machine Operator, but his true calling was being a farmer. On July 18th, 1959 Emil married Mary (Brownell) at Grace Lutheran church in Monroe. Emil loved spending time with his family, and also enjoyed being a member of the Maybee Sportsman Club, in addition to being a proud member of the NRA.

To cherish his memory, Emil leaves his beloved wife, Mary; two sons: Stephen and Brett Kohlman; one daughter, Sheridan (Charles) Hudson; seven grandchildren: Krystal, Kyle, Michael, Mark, Racheal, and Dustin Kohlman, and Kaitlyn Hudson; and seven great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Emil was preceded in death by one son, Brian, and one daughter, Brenda.

In accordance with his wishes, Emil will be cremated, and the family will hold a private service. Rupp Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Memorial donations in Emil’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

    I was told by a wise man once you will have friends and acquaintances if you are fortunate if you can count on one hand how many close friends. Emil was a close friend. we hunted together from Wyoming to the UP. shot trap and fished together. Emil was instrumental in helping build the Maybee Sportsman Club. Most of all we raised our families together and helped each other in many ways. Emil will be missed. Mary you and your family have our deepest condolences and prayers for your loss. John and Bonnie

    Just heard from uncle Herman that Emily passed away. Was thinking different times, gotta take a trip to visit. Now its too late, I lost the opportunities. And this has happened many times in the more recent years.of my life. My condolences
