David Arthur LaRoy

March 25, 1976 – August 15, 2017


LaRoyDavid Arthur LaRoy, age 41, of LaSalle, passed away Tuesday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center from injuries he sustained in a fall.


Family and friends may visit from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Rupp Funeral Home, with a Scripture Service being held at 5 p.m. He will lie in state at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Rev. Raymond Arwady, Pastor of the Church, will officiate. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow and his remains will be interred at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.


Born March 25, 1976, in Monroe, he was the son of Julian A. and Patricia L. (Eby) LaRoy. David graduated from St. Mary Catholic Central with the class of 1994. He was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 80 of Detroit and was employed with Ventcon, Inc. since 1999. David was a devoted University of Michigan Football fan and enjoyed playing card games, such as Casino and Hearts. He was a excellent farmer and was proud to take over the family farm after his fathers passing on December 15, 2012.


To cherish his memory, David leaves his Mother, Patricia L. LaRoy of LaSalle; five siblings: Steven (Tammy) LaRoy of Monroe, Andrew LaRoy of LaSalle, Sarah (Matthew) Kennedy of LaSalle, Kurt (Amanda) LaRoy of Lambertville and Luke (Maria Manzari) LaRoy of Monroe; girlfriend, Tammy “Sparkle” Jennings; and thirteen nieces and nephews: Tyler and Sabrina Goodell, Ronan and Makenzie LaRoy, Private Darrion LaRoy, Brooke-lynn LaRoy, Ruth and Ryan LaRoy, Luke and Ethan Doss, Bryce Young, Delah LaRoy, and Marie LaRoy.


In addition to his father, He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Julius and Muriel LaRoy and John and Yvonne Eby, and one sister-in-law, Carrie LaRoy.


Memorial contributions in David’s memory may be made to St. John the Baptist Church.
