Beulah M. Morrison

MorrisonBeulah M. Morrison, age 100, of Monroe, passed away peacefully at 5:23 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Medilodge of Monroe.


In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, on Friday, November, 24, 2017 at 11:00 am. .


Born July 9, 1917 in Carleton, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Lucille (Schwab) Thompson. Beulah attended Gayville Road School House and worked with her family on their farm growing up. She married Kenneth L. Morrison in Bowling Green, Ohio. Sadly, he preceded her in death on November 18, 1968. Beulah worked for Mercy Memorial Hospital in the Housekeeping Department during the 1970s. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and was well known for her Banana Cookies, Texas Sheet Cake and Pumpkin Roll. Beulah loved camping and continued to go on trips with her family well into her 90s and her favorite place to camp was Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park in Fremont, Indiana. She loved being outdoors and cherished her time spent gardening and watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. Beulah was proud to have been self-sufficient into her late 90s and was also proud to be part of multiple five generations in her family. She was a cancer survivor and a member of the Monroe Industrial team with The Relay for Life of Monroe for the last 6 years.


To cherish her memory, Beulah leaves one son, Roger (Mary) Morrison of Monroe; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Maryellen Navarre and Richard Morrison; one grandson, Paul Morrison; and two great-grandsons, William Cody Lowrey and Terry Cosby Jr.


Memorial contributions in Beulah’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Monroe or to the family.
