Alice A. Yard, 88 of Monroe died at 9:58 a.m. Monday at Medilodge of Monroe she had been in poor health since January.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a. m. Thursday. Rev. Lawrence Detruf, pastor of the First Church of God will officiate and burial will be at Woodland Cemetery.
Born April 24, 1921 in Wetumka, Oklahoma she was the daughter of Jess and Virginia (Awtrey) Irby. She married Russell A. Yard on November 1, 1937 in Monroe he preceded her in death on November 3, 2002.
She had been employed at Hadley’s Dress Shop in Monroe.
Surviving are her children, Russell A. (Donise) Yard, Jr. and William J. Yard both of Monroe; grandchildren Linda S. (Doug) Umfress of Monroe and Sheryl L. Yard of Temperance; great grandchildren Cory, Alicia and Matthew Umfress
She was preceded in death by a sister Lois Ameye and brothers Bill and Herb Irby.
